Install from the official store

Use the iOS App Store link in the MurMur download center. Check the store and app for current system requirements, availability and subscription options. Do not install a configuration profile from an unknown download link.

Add the keyboard and permissions

The main app records audio; the keyboard starts the flow and inserts text. Follow the in-app guide. Developer Mode is not required for normal use.

  1. Open MurMur and complete the account and setup steps shown by your version.
  2. Go to Settings → General → Keyboard → Keyboards → Add New Keyboard and select MurMur.
  3. Follow the guide to enable Allow Full Access for MurMur and grant microphone permission when the main app requests it.
  4. Create a test note in Notes, hold the globe key and select MurMur.

Try a first dictation

Tap the voice button, speak a short phrase and tap to finish. The flow may open the main app when recording setup is needed. After insertion, check names, numbers and specialist terms before sending. Password fields, restricted fields and apps that block third-party keyboards may not support this flow.

Troubleshoot a missing keyboard or result

Check that MurMur, rather than system dictation, is selected. Review microphone access, Full Access and connectivity. Use the app's retry action when available. Avoid repeatedly deleting the app, which may affect content stored on your device.

Understand local and cloud processing

Local recognition depends on your device, mode and model setup. Cloud recognition, smart cleanup and translation require internet access and send the audio or text needed for processing. Full Access does not mean every mode is offline. Read the permissions and privacy pages for details.
